Jeremy, Brett and I saw the Foo Fighters in Concert last Wednesday! It was the coolest concert I have ever been too!! I have been a big fan of Dave Grohl ever since he joined Nirvana as the drummer in 1990. The concert was an incredible 4 hours long, Minus the Bear and Supergrass opened. About half way through the Foo Fighters show, out of the corner of my eye I saw something being lowered from the ceiling, looked over and saw a huge stage equipped with drums and all sitting directly in front of me. Soon, Dave Grohl and the rest of the band followed him on a cat walk to the stage in the middle of the arena. They stayed here for over an hour playing unplugged songs and telling stories. I love him unplugged, Nirvana unplugged has got to be one of the best live performances of all time! I will relate a story he told:
When Dave lived in Washington DC he worked at Virgin Records as a teenager and had an awesome boss. Now Dave is living in Seattle and it is 5 months after the first Foo Fighters record came out. He and a buddy were out celebrating and came upon the downtown Virgin Records store. On the side of the building a building size mural was painted for the hot new album of the month. This night it happened to be about an upcoming concert "See Michael Jackson live, featuring Madonna and Boys to Men". Dave and his friend thought that it would be really funny to spray paint and Foo Fighters there as well. While Dave was spray painting, his friend said say cheese and snapped a Polaroid of him graffitiing the wall. As they were leaving his friend slipped the picture under the door. Dave got pissed and talked about how much trouble he would be in. The next morning Dave got an early call, as he got up to answer his phone in a stupor, he was trying to remember what had happened the night before. It was a very irate manager of Virgin Records, it was his boss from the store in DC, they had a good laugh!
It was so much fun to hear his stories and great music!
